Stick-and-place is a superior method for patients who need a transplant within an area of existing hair. It uses smaller openings that are immediately filled with a graft, reducing shock loss and follicle damage. The closer spacing of the openings also creates a more natural appearance.

With a donor strip harvest, patients at our office can expect a relatively straightforward healing process from their donor site. Most patients will have a small scar from this procedure that can be entirely obscured, even with shorter hair. 

As an alternative to traditional strip harvesting, Dr. Konior and Dr. Nadimi can perform follicular unit extraction (FUE). This method removes individual follicular units through minute, circular entry points. Because these are tiny and diffused over a larger area, they can be very easy to conceal. 

A follicular unit graft requires great surgical expertise. The process begins when your donor strip is sliced so each section of tissue measures one follicular unit in width. The follicular units are then isolated, removed, and sorted for transplant using state-of-the-art magnification technology. 

The trichophytic closure technique can be the best method in camouflaging your hair transplant scar, but not all surgeons can perform it. Our highly skilled surgeons have been performing this procedure successfully for some time as an improvement upon the traditional closure technique.
